What are allergies?
An allergy occurs when the immune system reacts to a foreign substance which is usually harmless. For example, pollen, pets, dust mites, insects, foods, or medications. These substances are known as allergens or triggers.
Several different conditions can be classified as allergies, including hayfever, eczema, and asthma.
